Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Listen Below!

Can a Christian lose their salvation?

With the same freedom of choice an individual used to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, an individual can also choose (II Pet 2:20-22) to turn his heart over to another (I Kings 11:1-10) and develop into a lifestyle of sinful behavior (Galatians 5:19-21).

Do people have to go to church?

The Scriptures teach throughout the Bible that if we are physically able, we should come together to collectively celebrate the Lord in worship, in praise and his word in order to obtain growth, accountability and spiritual edification (Hebrews 10:25).

How do I know if God is real?

The Scriptures teach that a loving God is demonstrated in His creation (Psalm 19:1-2), our conscience (Titus 2:11) and in the continual existence of the nation of Israel despite their persecution from all nations and empires throughout time...while all nations and empires have fallen throughout time (Jer 31:35-37).

I have done some really bad things, does God still love me?

God has both forgiven individuals and used individuals throughout time that were murderers (Moses, Paul), adulterers (David), blasphemers (Paul), deniers of Christ (Peter) and such like (Eph 2)...it is not how we start, but how we finish...(II Corinthians 5:17) (I Peter 2:9-10), the key is that we must repent and receive the love of God through Jesus Christ in the form of forgiveness, cleansing and restoration (II Chronicles 7:14).

Is physical abuse grounds for a divorce?

The Scriptures teach that fornication is grounds for divorce, however, if physical abuse is present, safety should be sought (Psalm 57:1), then the perpetrator should be addressed through the law (I Tim 1:8-10) and addressed through the church to repent (if a believer) and dwell with the spouse as a Christian...if no repentance, then the individual should be disciplined according to Scripture (Matthew 18:15-17) and the victim is free, if they choose to be (I Cor 7:10-16).

I am a good person, am I going to heaven?

Scripture teaches that mankind is a sinner not only by actions (Romans 3:23), but by state (Romans 3:9-10), imputation (Romans 5:12-21) and nature (Jer 17:9)...this means that the worst of mankind and the best of mankind are both lost and need salvation in Christ.  Cornelius was a good man and still needed redemption (Acts 10).  Paul was blameless in keeping the law, and still needed redemption (Philippians 3:5-9).  Nicodemas was a ruler of the Jews and a Master of the Jewish Scriptures, and still needed redemption (John 3:1-21).  The Virgin Mary...confessed that she still needed redemption (Luke 1:47).  Our goodness will never be good enough (Isaiah 64:6) (Romans 3:23) and as God requires perfection, we must exchange our sins for the righteousness of Christ through salvation in Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 5:17-21) (Titus 3:5-7).

Why is there so much suffering if God is real?

There is both evil and good in world, goodness comes from the Lord (James 1:17) (I John 1:5) and evil comes from the devil (I The 3:5) (John 10:10).  The Lord gets the blame for much of the suffering...but suffering actually comes from the devil's evil, the malevolent choices that people make against other people (II Samuel 24:14) (Matthew 10:17) and that we live in a fallen world that is influenced by the devil and his minions (I Peter 5:8) (Eph 6:12).

There are too many hypocrites in the church!

In every aspect of society and in every industry, there are those that are sincere, and those that are not.  Hence, also, in the church, there are those that are sincere and those that are not.  As a result, the church is not for the perfect (which there are none) bur for all to come into and for all to have a life changing experience (Luke 5:32) and we should not use this question as an excuse to deny ourselves an opportunity to attend church  (Hebrews 10:25).

Why do people go to hell if God is good?

First, God does not send any one to hell (Ezek 33:11).  Second, individuals make choices and are responsible for their own consequences (Galatians 6:7-8) (Matthew 7:13-14) (Proverbs 14:12).  Third, God has created a place of tormented separation (Matt 25:41) for those that desire in their heart to be separate from God during this life due to their unbelief &rejection of God's love...and as a result...in righteous judgement...they will be separate from God for eternity (Rev 20:11-15) due to their unbelief (Heb 3:19) & rejection of God's love (II The 2:10).

How can I trust the Bible if it was written by man?

God has designed the development of the Scriptures to affirmatively state that God alone has written the Holy Scriptures (II Tim 3:16).  The Bible is 66 books, written by 40 authors over 1,500 years on 3 different continents...this fact declares that mankind could not have contrived nor conspired any Scriptural content among themselves, this, coupled with the fact that there are no contradictions in Scripture and that every prophecy of Scripture is being fulfilled to the exact date, place, person, nation and event...teaches that the Holy Spirit supernaturally & flawlessly authored the Scriptures (II Peter 1:20-21) (Matthew 5:18).

How can Christianity say that they have the only true religion, I thought all religions lead to God?

All religions except Christianity teach that works leads to salvation, only Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ paid the full price for sins, Jesus Christ rose from the dead (John 11:25-26) and Jesus Christ himself declares that he alone is the way of salvation (John 14:6)...it is not what we do to be saved, but faith in what Jesus has done, on the cross (Eph 2:8-9).

What about the people that have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Scripture teaches that those that do not reach the age of accountability (II Samuel 12:21-23) (Romans 7:9) and the mentally incapacitated are given grace and are in heaven (James 4:17)...also, those that have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be judged based on the amount of light given to their conscience (Romans 2:12-16).

Is it true that everybody is a child of God?

First and foremost, not everyone is a child of God (Psalm 1).  Moreover, many individuals misinterpret (Malachi 2:10) which states, 'Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?'  In this context, this Scripture speaks of our human origin through God as our creator...not God as our redeemer.  Further, those that are called children of God were adopted into the family of God by the Holy Spirit (I Cor 12:13) (Romans 8:14-16) through salvation in Jesus Christ as a result of the born again experience through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:3-8).  Furthermore, Scripture teaches that there are only two sets of individuals in this world (Matthew 13:38) (I John 3:8-10), believers in the Lord Jesus Christ through salvation and unbelievers that do not accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (John 3:16-18).  As a result, Scripture is clear in the Bible that there is a distinction between those that are children of God and those that merely profess that they are children of God (Matthew 7:21-23) (Galatians 6:7-8).  Lastly, Jesus taught that fruit is the determining factor that separates the believer from the unbeliever (Matthew 7:15-20).  Therefore, these two sets of individuals are distinguished by their lifestyle (III John 11)...godly fruit produced by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) (which results in life) versus the works of the flesh produced by the sinful nature of man (which results in death) (Galatians 5:19-21).
